ORIGIN / PRODUCTION
- Clos des Avoueries is a high-altitude vineyard (390m), surrounded by woods and murgers, with an easterly exposure facing Mont Blanc. It’s a château monopoly.
- Very small micro-parcel (0.30 ha) “Barramine”. Why this name? The soil is composed of limestone gravel laid on a limestone slab. A crowbar had to be used to plant the grafts when they were planted 34 years ago.
- Ecocert-certified organic farming.
- Full ploughing and manual harvesting.
- Natural winemaking with a single input: a low dose of So2.
- 6-month alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts.
- Malolactic fermentation in barrels several years old.
- Bottled with light filtration.
- Untreated corks, selected after batch tasting.
TASTING (UFO = Unidentified Wine Object)
EYE: Pale gold with green highlights. Clear and brilliant.
NOSE: Complex. Slight notes of noble reduction. Exotic, yellow-fruit aromas. Then, mineral and menthol notes complete this concentrated nose!
PALATE: Full-bodied attack. Plenty of volume on the palate. The freshness of the terroir balances the concentrated, almost tannic aromas. The finish has plenty of personality and structure.
