ORIGIN / PRODUCTION

• Clos des Avoueries is a high-altitude vineyard (390m), surrounded by woods and murgers, with an easterly exposure facing Mont Blanc. It’s a château monopoly.
• The “Pierres Rouges” micro-parcel comprises two terroir units. The upper part is composed of red clays (30-40 cm) on the limestone slab and the lower part of a very thin layer of clays (5-10 cm) still on the limestone slab.
• Ecocert-certified organic farming.
• Full ploughing and manual harvesting.
• Natural winemaking with a single input: a low dose of So2.
• 6-month alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts.
• Malolactic fermentation in barrels several years old.
• Bottled with light filtration.
• Untreated corks, selected after batch tasting.

TASTING

EYE: Gold with beautiful yellow teardrops

NOSE: Fresh, well-defined, with lightly smoky aromas followed by pear and even caramel notes.

PALATE: Fresh, very greedy attack with grilled aromas. Beautiful power and harmony on limestone, mango, orange and menthol. Its sweetness goes very well with a fine Epoisses!
